Employment Contracts

An employment contract sets out your employee’s rights, responsibilities and duties. They are entitled to a written statement of employment terms within two months of starting work but ideally it should be in place as soon as they accept a job offer. Having a written contract reduces the chances of disputes at a later date. It’s important to get the contract right as both you and your employee are bound by the employment contract until it ends or until there’s an agreement to change the terms. Employee Handbooks

Job Evaluation & Pay Grading

Evaluations help employers decide the importance of different jobs within the company, and determine the right pay and grading for each particular role (not the person). It helps ensure your company has a fair and equal pay system. It can occur for many reasons including reducing overheads, increasing profitability or simply reorganising the workforce to meet future needs. It often means taking difficult and controversial decisions and it can potentially expose companies to disputes with employees.
